An experiential practicum for parents, mentors and caregivers who are interested in helping the younger generations learn how to navigate their inner landscape and become emotionally empowered.
Have you ever felt lost or been frustrated when trying to help a younger person with their fears, tears, anxiety, their big questions about life, their struggle when trying to make decisions? This monthly, virtual group will be focused on how to help younger people begin to know, honor, acknowledge and trust their own truth and wisdom.
Using Ted's Ultimate Listening® approach, Ted Klontz, Ph.D. and Karin Schwank, Ph.D. will be teaching how to use this gentle, but powerful facilitation to any adult who cares about the next generation and wants to encourage young people and children to learn, listen and appreciate all parts of themselves. This approach is based on the concept that instead of conventional methods of dealing with emotions and teaching coping strategies, we welcome the guests who visit us (i.e. emotions, inner thoughts, hopes and dreams, anxieties, etc.) befriend them, listen to these inner voices, speak to them and learn from them. A phrase we use is a philosophy of “turning towards”, rather than away from. It is a powerful tool to use with one’s self, children, grandchildren, friends, family, and professionally. It is actually more of a way of being with than something that one does to themselves or others. Parents and Grandparents are especially welcome.
Due to the pandemic, this training group will gather one time each month virtually for two hours. It is open to anyone who uses or wants to use this approach in their relationships with young people and/or children. The sessions will involve teaching, supervision, consulting, training, troubleshooting, collaborating, sharing successes, sticky points, etc. with Ted, Karin and the other group members.
This group will be very limited in size and the cost is $100/month. In general, the group will meet the first Monday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Central and any changes from that schedule will be communicated in advance. The sessions will be recorded and posted to a private website to allow later viewing by members of the group.
